Apple hates it’s beveled iPad?
Just popped onto Apple.com to check the progress of iOS 4.2 and ended up on the iPad page. My first reaction upon seeing the image above was that there was a new iPad.
How so?
If you look at the photo, you will see how close to the surface the pad’s are, that the shadow gives the clear impression that these sit close to the surface. The reality is that there should be a bigger gap.
I know it’s just a promo photo, and that this is all probably very ‘whatever’. But I hate the bevel back on the iPad, it’s one of the features that makes it feel ‘cheaper’ than it is. Not sure if this is since getting the rugged lines of the iPhone 4. Probably.
But the photo above was enough for me to have a moment of wondering if they were sneaking out photos of a new iPad design. For which I would be quite pleased.
It’s a fine line between marketing a product falsely and just being lazy in Photoshop.
